Duck Hunting

Duck Hunting Strategy Tips

More decoys isn't always better. When hunting big water lots of decoys are good. When hunting puddlers to many decoys will crowd the water. Ducks will feel crowded and won't decoy.
Remember to respect ducks eye sight. In addition to wearing full camouflage, stay close to a tree or clump of grass. Also let one man lead the hunt and call the shots. Then he will be the only one looking up and moving. Everyone else should keep their heads down and stay still. Also never forget the importance of gloves and a head net.
Don't be afraid to leave your decoys and shoot skittish birds before they have time to investigate your spread and flare off.
Pick a creek channel with lots of brush this is helpful because ducks usually teal like to fly low and fast along the water.
