When building duck blind its nice to use chicken wire. Bundle branches and other materials and use tie raps to rap around bundles and rap into wire.this works real well and lasts a long time.
For those people that use boats or canoes for waterfowl hunting a really easy blind to make is go out to the slue and cut up some bulrushes put them into 20 or so hand full piles tyrap them together individually, then tyrap them on to a dark colored snow fence. measure your boat, after that go buy some PVC piping cut 6, 4 feet pieces, and two the length of your boat you also need four corner pieces and two ""T"" pieces to connect them together you also need 6 ""u"" bolts evenly spaced out on the side of your boat.drill holes and use them for your post holders.
If you wear eyeglasses, be sure to treat your glasses with a good anti-fogging treatment before heading into the woods. Put this together with a loose fitting head net that shields your highly reflective lenses from view and you will not only be better hidden, but you will avoid having your glasses steam up and disrupt your vision.
If you don't own a boat, use a muskrat mound as a seat if one is available. You can use it as a backrest and look skyward for those oncoming ducks. I found that you blend in well with the mound and the ducks tend to come right into the dekes.
Bring a folding camp seat that has bars along the bottom of the legs. Early in the morning if you are bank hunting you can set the seat up out in the water near a bush or reeds and it lets you get a few feet closer to your dekes and to the birds coming in. This only works early when light is low.
When hunting just before sunset on sunny bright days cover your face it,s like a big flash light and the ducks will flare.
Bright sunlight and windy days help hide duck hunters. The shadows cast by your blind and movement of the wind in the brush and trees help to disguise you and your movements. Overcast days require more camouflage to hide you and less movement on your part to get wary ducks in range.
Planning the spot the day before you hunt can be a good idea. If not to wet you can dig a hole big enough for you and even your dog, it makes a great blind.
If you have a boat you want to either paint it camo or cover it up with some kind of camo the motor specially or ducks will see it.
When hunting ducks make sure your blind is camo and able to be seen and be able to shot out of.
If you ever are in need of something to cover your motor for camouflage, use a decoy bag or two. They fit pretty well over most motors twenty horsepower and under. You'll find it helps conceal it quite well.
