Deer Hunting

Bow Hunting Strategy

For all you bow hunters who's property floods in the winter. Bring those lock on or climber stands (bottom only) into the flooded timber. They make great dog perches. The top parts of some climbers also make nice seats for you.
Instead of using a range finder while bow hunting use bright colored tape or natural things such as tree branches in an x shape to pre-mark yardage's that you are comfortable shooting at.
If you are using a standard peep sight on you bow it is often a good idea to drill the hole a little bigger thus allowing your low light shots to be more successful.|
While practicing shooting your bow, use the same grain tips as you will use Broadheads
If you are an avid Bowhunter you know that knowing your yardage is very important. So here is something that I have done.Try taking different colored yarn in the woods with you to mark your yardage.(EXAMPLE)Blue yarn would be put at 20 yards.
To avoid carrying a lot of gear into the woods a drag rope may be used to hoist your bow into your tree or even to lay a sent trail when dragged behind you.
